What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps people of all ages do the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities. OT focuses on the "job of living"—enhancing the physical, cognitive, and sensory skills required for independence.

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Developing skills for self-care, such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and handwriting.

  • Sensory Processing & Integration: Helping clients manage how they experience and react to sensory input (touch, sound, movement) to improve focus and emotional regulation.

  • Fine & Gross Motor Skills: Improving hand-eye coordination, muscle strength, and dexterity to navigate the world more effectively.

  • Environmental Adaptations: Recommending tools or modifications to home and school environments to set our clients up for success.

Development & Early Intervention

We support children in hitting their developmental milestones. This includes improving play skills, social interaction, and the foundational motor skills needed for school readiness.

Sensory Processing & Integration

For individuals who are over- or under-sensitive to their environment, we provide strategies to help the brain organize and respond to sensory input. This leads to better emotional regulation, improved focus, and reduced "meltdowns" or sensory overload.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

This is the "heart" of OT. We help clients master self-care tasks—such as dressing, hygiene, feeding, and grooming—to foster a sense of autonomy and dignity in their daily routines.

Fine Motor & Handwriting Support

We work on the small muscle movements of the hands and fingers. This practice area is vital for tasks like using scissors, buttoning clothes, typing, and developing legible, pain-free handwriting.

Executive Functioning & Cognitive Coaching

We help clients improve their "brain management" skills. This includes organization, time management, memory strategies, and problem-solving techniques to navigate work, school, and home life more efficiently.

Neurological & Physical Rehabilitation

For those recovering from injuries, strokes, or living with chronic conditions, we focus on regaining strength, coordination, and cognitive function. We adapt tasks to help clients return to the activities they love.
