Speech Language Pathologist

Hello! I'm Vicky, a speech pathologist passionate about empowering people of all ages to communicate with confidence. My journey has taken me from the sunny beaches of Sydney to the beautiful islands of Okinawa. I hold First Class Honours from The University of Sydney and have published research on Primary Progressive Aphasia. My experience working in diverse settings has allowed me to develop a holistic and personalized approach to therapy. I believe in making therapy engaging and enjoyable, using evidence-based practices to achieve meaningful results. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring local cafes and staying active through kickboxing—and as a fun fact, I speak three languages: English, Mandarin, and Japanese!

Could These Programs Help My Child?

  • Concerned about your child's communication development?

The Hanen More Than Words Program offers parents of children with language delays or autism practical techniques to boost their child's communication during daily activities, such as playtime.

Vicky is trained in the Hanen More Than Words Program and can guide parents in using these effective strategies. The focus is on the child's interests to encourage interaction and better communication skills. Parents will learn simple steps to incorporate into their routines, empowering them to be key figures in their child's language growth.

To discover how the Hanen More Than Words Program can transform everyday moments into communication opportunities for a child, contact u today.

  • Is reading and writing a challenge for your child?

Sounds-Write is a powerful literacy program that teaches the essential link between sounds and letters in a clear, step-by-step way. This helps children build strong reading and spelling skills.

  • Does your child repeat phrases or sing songs word-perfectly but find it hard to put their own sentences together? They might be learning language in whole chunks.

The Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) approach recognizes this unique learning style and uses tailored strategies to help your child develop their own expressive language.

  • Dealing with a child who has strong food preferences or is very sensitive to textures and tastes can be tough. The SOS (Sequential-Oral-Sensory) Approach is a way to help. It's based on research and looks at the whole child, not just what they eat. It tries to figure out why your child is having trouble with food, especially if it's because of how food feels, smells, or tastes to them.

Instead of just trying to get your child to eat more, the SOS Approach focuses on making mealtime a positive experience. It helps them feel more comfortable around food, which can then lead to them trying new things little by little. Therapists can use this approach, and it also gives you, as parents, ways to help your child at home. It's all about taking small steps and making food less stressful.
